Online shopping frequency in Spain skews heavily toward younger adults, with the 25–34 and 35–44 age groups leading high-frequency purchasing. Nearly a quarter of 25–34 year olds shop online at least once a week ( weekly, three or more times a week), while 45–54 year olds match this pace closely, with shopping one to two times a week — the highest share of any group at that frequency.
Older Spaniards shop considerably less often. Among those aged 65 and above, buy online only about once a month, and have made no online purchase in the past 12 months — far exceeding the near-zero non-participation rates seen among 18–34 year olds. The 55–64 group sits between these extremes, with monthly or less frequent shopping dominating their pattern.
The 18–24 group, despite being the youngest cohort, shops somewhat less intensively than 25–44 year olds, likely reflecting lower disposable income. Across all age groups, the two-to-three times a month frequency is consistently popular, suggesting it represents the mainstream rhythm of online shopping behavior in Spain.
