The most intensive online shopping behavior is concentrated among Americans in their prime working years. Consumers aged 35–44 lead the market, with purchasing online at least once a week, while the 25–34 group also shows a strong weekly rhythm, including who shop one to two times per week. These segments appear to treat e-commerce as part of their regular consumption routine rather than an occasional channel.
Older shoppers are far more likely to engage at a slower pace. Among those aged 65+, only purchase three or more times a week, while shop roughly once a month. Yet complete non-participation remains low across every age group, indicating that the generational divide is driven less by access to e-commerce than by differences in shopping frequency.
